effectiveness of educational based on quality of life therapy on perfectionism

background: perfectionism is a character of personality thatindicates striving  to be perfect  and having  high standards for practice .it is a tendency to evaluate one' s andothers behavior critically. aim of this study was investigating theeffectiveness of quality of life therapy on the perfectionism.methods: this was a semi experimental research with pretest andposttest with control group.  thestatistical population was individuals referring 3 counseling centers(industrial university counseling center, bousatan counseling center &alefbaye-zendegi; counseling center) in autumn and winter of 2012. researchsample included 32 individuals were selected through available sampling andallocated into two groups of experimental and control. the experimental groupwas trained 8 sessions of instruction for eight weeks in quality of lifetherapy. at the end, both groups received posttest. the measurement instrumentwas hill perfectionism inventory with kronbach's alphaof coefficient 0/92. datawere analyzed with covariance and mancova analysis through spss-18.findings: the results showed that there were significantdifferences between the scores of perfectionism in experimental and controlgroups in posttest (p<0/01). it was also shown that, this interventionquality of life therapy significantly reduces the subscales of perfectionismincluding: interpersonalsensitivity, striving for excellence, perceived parental pressure,organization, high standard for others, adaptive and maladaptive perfectionism.conclusion: this study indicated the efficacy of quality of lifetherapy on perfectionism. so, institutions should include health andeducational develop and implement training programs to reduce maladaptiveperfectionism.
